WooHoo Band

My wife and I finally for married on 6th of November after having to delay 455 days due to COVID. One of our main focuses while planning the wedding was the music / atmosphere on the evening. We’d been to a few weddings in the past with live bands so were pretty sure that was the route we wanted to go down. After a bit of research and watching a few bands at gigs we went along to one of WooHoo bands showcase events at the Newsrooms in Edinburgh. We knew straight away this was the band for us and after a great night a few drinks we booked them then and there. We even went back again a few months later and took some family along to confirm we had made the right choice, they loved them as well. From then on we were never in doubt. All their support and information was extremely helpful. Their flexibility was great, adding / changing plans here and there. Then on the day they were absolutely amazing. We had the best time and a huge numbers of our guests all came up to us and said how great the band were. The dancefloor was never empty. They even reshuffled the planned set timings to make sure we didn’t loose any playing time, even though the delay in getting started was nothing to do with them which was amazing. The best thing, in my opinion, is the fact that the whole band seemed to be really enjoying themselves too! You could really feel that as they played. This made the whole night amazing, and I couldn’t recommend this band highly enough.

Rob and the WooHoo Band

We had the fortune to have the Woohoo band play at our wedding in March this year and we couldn't recommend them highly enough - book them!
We were lucky to catch them performing a showcase gig in Edinburgh, and it was clear that the Woohoo band were something unique. We really weren’t sure exactly what we wanted, and probably had a better idea of what we didn’t want, but it was clear that the Woohoo Band’s flexible and professional approach would guarantee we’d be happy. With a range of clearly talented musicians available in any arrangement you might want to choose, and with setlists having such a variety of genres, we were able to really tailor the band and the setlist to what we were looking for. Not only did their own setlists get our heads nodding in agreement, but the band were keen and enthusiastic about our own choices of music and willing to learn a whole load of songs not on their own list.
As the day drew closer Rob checked in on us regularly via phone and email to keep up to date with the timings of the day and to help us with choices for ceilidh dances. The Woohoo band have a perfect web portal for your event, allowing you to continually update all event details such as contact numbers and timings with ease. We were also able to keep adding our own song suggestions to the list over the months leading up to the wedding, as and when inspiration hit, taking the pressure off knowing exactly what you want from the get go.
Come the day, not only did we have some extremely talented musicians play an incredibly classy set of all the songs we love, our ceilidh start went flawlessly, our guests loved it and were dancing till the end of the night, and the whole experience was completely stress free. You couldn’t ask for more from a band - prompt, organised, talented and ready to get the party going.

I cannot say enough about how well the WooHoo band was on our wedding night! We opted for a larger band with a brass section (really only for 1 specific Frankie Valli and the 4 seasons song!) but they were fantastic. We had a celidh as well which was also spectacular. It was a bit unnerving from the start because the band is so flexible, but we watched some videos online and had a friend go and see them so we knew the lead singer we wanted - Aimee helped schedule everything around that! I would suggest also getting a bigger band bc you're going to love it on the day of. Highly recommend!

We were absolutely delighted with the WooHoo Band who played our wedding in Bute.
The band’s performance was incredible and lots of our guests (many of whom were new to ceilidhs) complemented how good they were.
The booking system was convenient and easy to use, and allowed us to easily personalise the ceremony and reception music, timing and all other arrangements.
We would absolutely recommend them!

Woohoo performed for our wedding this August (2019) and they were AMAZING! Fantastic presence and energy, great job reading the room, really accommodating, and absolutely stellar musicians. The dancefloor was full all night.. which was exactly what we had hoped. Communication in the lead up was great too. Couldn't recommend them more highly!

This band are amazing, we had them play all day at our wedding including the ceremony and drinks reception and we could have asked for more.
Rob was great pre the wedding making sure we had everything organised as well. They worked really well with our DJ to organise the sets.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to WooHoo! From start to finish the whole process was made incredibly easy with them. Nothing was too much trouble and Rob made us feel completely at ease leading up to the big day. The band were just amazing. All of our guests are still talking about them. They felt the crowd perfectly and new just what to play to keep everyone up dancing. We were able to book everything as a package which made it so much easier. We had Johnny on pipes to welcome our guests and music through the ceremony and the canapes. There was an option for a DJ but we decided to have the band for the whole night. I really couldn't fault these guys at all and we know we made the perfect choice when choosing our band. Would 100% recommend them to anyone and everyone! Thanks again

Kerry and I are were both super fussy when it came to choosing music for our wedding day. We wanted songs - and performances - which would be meaningful and fun for us and our guest. We had gone to see the Woohoo band at one or their showcase gigs - and been impressed by their heavy duty talent, professionalism and versatility. We knew that our band would be presiding over about 5 hours of our big day - so we considered them to be in a position of great trust. Thankfully Rob, Angus, Cat and the others proved to be a pleasure to work with from start to finish: the band's helpful website helped us to think about what we wanted for the evening, they took time to pay attention to our requests - and they delivered a performance which we and our other quests loved from start (they played a cover of Nat Kin Cole's "L.O.V.E" for our first dance) through some raucous ceilidh numbers to a romantic close. We would thoroughly recommend them.

Kerry and I both care a great deal about music and we spent a long time trying to select pieces and performers which would be fun and meaningful for us and our guests. We are fussy! Following an initial recommendation, we went to see The Woohoo band at one of their showcases - and were impressed by their heavy duty musical talent, professionalism and versatility. We knew that the band would be musically presiding over about 5 hours of our big day - so they were in a position of major responsibility. In the event, Rob, Angus, Cat and the rest were an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish: they have a very helpful website which helped us to plan our evening, they took time to accommodate to our requests and they delivered a performance which we (and our guests) loved: from a first dance, through some wild ceilidh numbers and a final close.

The band were fantastic. We couldn't have asked for anything better. The atmosphere they created was electric and the dance floor was packed, exactly what we wanted. The band also provided us with strings for the ceremony and they were exquisite. It really was a dream come true walking down the isle to such beautiful playing. Everything went smoothly our end but we did over run, the band didn't mind and quickly rejigged the schedule to maximize our time with them. Communication before the big day was brilliant and it was helpful that they would communicate with the castle as well so everyone knew what was going on. The band really helped the day feel so perfect and I would recommend them to everyone.

Sean and I would just like to say a massive thank you to Rob and the rest of the band for playing at our wedding reception on the 7th of April 2018. We had a fab night dancing away and all our guests have been raving about how great the music was!! The bridesmaids were able to swish there dresses around all night long on the dance floor!! Our first dance song Cheap Tricks- I want you to want me was done exactly how we imagined and we couldn’t have asked for anything more! Special surprise of my cousin and uncle taking to the stage for a song too!! Fantastic!! I can’t rate you all high enough! I would recommend you to all! Thank you again for making the process so simple, your attention to detail is second to none.

We are so happy we decided to use The WooHoo Band for our wedding day, they were absolutely brilliant. The dance floor was full the entire night, with a great mix of both recent and classic songs that everyone across all generations can dance to. We provided a list of songs / artists that we liked and they absolutely nailed it with their playlist for us. Our guests are still commenting today (6 months on) that this has been the best wedding they have ever been to and the band made up a big part of this. Not only were the band great on the day but they were very prompt at responding to us on the run up and answering all our questions, big or small. They have a very slick and efficient process in place running up to the wedding which helped to reassure us. I would 100% recommend The WooHoo Band for anyone for their wedding, they will get the party started!

A brilliant group who gave us the most incredible end to our wedding - from the first song, the floor was filled with dancing and fun, and we got to have a brilliant, chaotic ceilidh set too! So many compliments from people on how good the band were. Highly recommend.

I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank you so much for everything you have done this year since Joel and I hired the band for the wedding. You have been a dream to deal with! So meticulous, prompt, organised, efficient, professional and easy to deal with. If only all suppliers were like that.
