    Dear Klaus,

Thank you for making such a long journey to play the organ for our Nuptial Mass, last Saturday.

I was very impressed by your dedication and your desire to be totally briefed about the Liturgy in advance.

We were delighted by the quality of your playing and look forward to having you back soon. Hopefully not at the last minute as we had to do last weekend when our booked organist left us down the day before the Wedding.

    Many thanks,
    Rev. John O’Brien S.C.A.

    Testimonial from Chichi Onyenemelu

Note: This wedding, of a Nigerian couple, took place in the Catholic Church of St Joseph in Leyton, London E10, on Saturday, 6 September 2014. The celebrant was the Rev. Father Innocent Ezeonyeasi.

Miss Chichi Onyenemelu (London) is a friend of the couple, Miss Ndidi Onyekachi Agbabi and Mr Arinze Nonso Chidume. She was in charge of organising the wedding, including hiring the organist, Dr Klaus Bung.

She expressed her appreciation in passing in some messages during the period of preparing the wedding and a formal testimonial sent after the wedding.

From WhatsAp message of 1 Sep 2014, after the rehearsal

Klaus – Thank you so very very much for coming today and giving up so much of your time. You brought a sense of calm and direction which I greatly appreciate. …

From text message of 7 Sep 2014, day after the wedding:

Hi Klaus – I’m slowly recovering from yesterday as it was a late night for me and I was so exhausted! I wanted to say a big thank you again for yesterday – you were so professional and understood what was needed. …

Testimonial sent by email on 8 September 2014

    To whom it may concern
From very early on I knew that I would enjoy working with Klaus. He made contact so promptly after my initial enquiry and that was only the first of many positives. When I explained to Klaus that my good friend was getting married in less than a month and his church choir and organist were on holiday, he wasted no time checking and confirming his availability. He provided multiple options for us to communicate and discuss what was needed – and as the date drew closer Klaus would respond to my urgent messages so quickly, always offering some useful information or solution to some issue we were having.

Klaus was professional, helpful and kind throughout the entire process. He demonstrated his knowledge of wedding ceremonies and vast musical repertoire, making excellent suggestions for acclamations and hymns and directing me to great links as well as his own website. Klaus was absolutely critical in pulling together the final order of service; and went above and beyond taking time to source the music for every single piece, even ensuring copies were sent to the choir members beforehand.

On the day of the wedding rehearsal, Klaus attended at no additional charge because he fully appreciated the desperate situation we were in and he wanted to ensure that the music and the ceremony ran smoothly on the day. He even used his Latin to get us out of a sticky situation with one of the parish priests who was a little frustrated because we (the bridal party) had run over time!

When the big day came, Klaus was the first in the church, organized and dressed for the occasion. He played a number of beautiful pieces prior to the ceremony as guests were arriving. Every hymn and acclamation was played beautifully and with ease, Klaus adjusted his speed to match the congregation who were singing a little slow at times!

To see such dedication, professionalism and respect for one’s craft is not something you see every day, yet Klaus truly embodied all of these attributes and more. For Klaus it wasn’t just a ‘job’. In conversations he would take an interest in learning about the couple and their Nigerian heritage and share stories about himself and previous work he had done.

I would not hesitate to recommend Klaus to anybody needing a skilled organist. He will not disappoint!

    Hi Klaus,

Natalie and I have just returned from our honeymoon, and therefore I wanted to email to say a huge thank you for playing at our wedding on the 25 April. It was lovely to have you there as part of our special day and you did a fantastic job.

    Thank you once again

    All the best
    Mark and Natalie

    Hi Klaus,

Once again thank you very much for playing at mine and Natalie’s wedding, we really appreciated it. I have written some words of thanks below

‘Klaus played at mine and Natalie’s wedding on 25 April 2015. He did a fantastic job in ensuring that the correct music was played to suit the mood of the occasion. Klaus ensured the entrance music (the Pachelbel canon) was appropriately adjusted to fit the length of the entry procession and following an unusually long signing of the register Klaus adapted by continuing to play appropriate and enjoyable music throughout. Klaus helped make an extremely special day even more memorable and we thank him very much for that.’

    Thank you once again

    Best Wishes

Weddings at churches are always special and unique. But the one I am writing about was extra special!

It was a wedding of an Indian bridegroom and a bride from the Caribbean.

Everyone was seated and waiting for the bride to arrive. Initially we learnt that there is a 20 minutes delay. Well, that’s alright.

The 20 minutes stretched to 30, 40 and 50 minutes, but there was still no bride. After 90 minutes the wake-up call came: the bride is near. And after one hour and forty minutes she arrived indeed. What a joy!

But what did this mean for our patient organist, Klaus Bung?

Klaus played the organ without a break during all this time.

Among the themes and chorales on which he improvised was significantly Bach’s ‘Sleepers, wake’, a voice is calling’ (‘Wachet auf’, ruft uns die Stimme’) which refers to the parable of the wise virgins waiting for the bridegroom to arrive. They ‘know neither the day nor the hour’. He spiced this up by occasionally inserting the opening fanfare from ‘Here comes the bride’ and from and bits from Mendelssohn’s Wedding March from the “Midsummer Night’s Nightmare”, which produced smiles or laughter from the waiting congregation.

For the Indian parents, Klaus inserted the tune of the popular Indian evening prayer (aarti), ‘Om Jay Jagadishe hare’.

Having so much time at his disposal, Klaus used the opportunity to demonstrate the sounds of the many voices (stops) of our three-manual pipe organ.

Klaus was unflappable and displayed his customary patience and sense of humour.

After the ceremony, the bridegroom and several guests congratulated Klaus and thanked him for his beautiful music and for his patience.

    Thank you, Klaus!!

Klaus was incredibly thorough and responsive during the run up to and also on our wedding day itself.

I wasn’t 100% sure about the music I wanted, but he provided professional consultation and recommendations on everything from equipment to hymn choice.

He also took the time to visit our ceremony venue in advance and meet our Priest, which was greatly appreciated, especially as the organ turned out to be unsuitable.

On the day, he brought his own equipment and was able to provide a wonderful repertoire of background music before, during and after the service – as well as some popular hymns. We were so grateful to have him there on the day.

    As promised!

Dr Klaus joined us as a late addition to play the church organ on our special day. Nothing was too great to ask. He was extremely flexible, which is great when planning a wedding!

His playing beautifully matched the mood of the ceremony.

He arranged his own rehearsal appointments with the church, which saved us time and hassle. On the day he arrived with plenty of time to ‘warm up’ the organ.

Thank you, Dr Klaus, for making our wedding service even more special.

You’ll be more than welcome to play at our future children’s baptism!

Klaus could not have been more helpful preparing for our wedding day. Not only did he guide us in selecting the perfect music but he also learnt to play ‘Let it be’ by the Beatles for us, which made the music on the day even more special

Klaus also took the time to visit the church to check the organ, which put our minds at ease that everything would go well on the big day.

On the day he played perfectly, we received many positive comments afterwards on the choice of music and its performance.

On top of his very professional attitude and exceptional skill, Klaus is an extremely lovely person. We couldn’t have asked for a better organist and are very happy to recommend him to other people.

    Thank you so much.

    Dear Klaus,

Good morning. That is the most amazing coincidence! We’ve been away for a week in sunny France, and only ten minutes before I opened your email, I was discussing with my husband that we ought to contact you very soon with a glowing review!

So, with no further delay, here it is….all the way from Aquitaine.

‘We found Dr Klaus Bung online when we were looking for an organist to play at our elder daughter’s recent wedding in the Lake District.

We couldn’t have made a better choice. Dr Bung is not only a very talented musician who was able to advise us about suitable music and how it might fit into the order of service, he is also highly professional and dependable. He promptly responded to any of our email queries in the run-up to the wedding, then arrived at the church three full hours before the ceremony, in order to familiarise himself with the church organ and have a warm-up rehearsal.

His playing during the service was nothing short of wonderful. As soon as he began to play, we realised just how fortunate we had been! Our daughter and son-in-law were over the moon that their wedding ceremony was made perfect with the sound of beautiful organ music filling the church. Our guests were absolutely charmed too. We have many talented musicians in our family, so the accolades were well-deserved.

We would not hesitate to recommend Dr Bung to others. He is a charming and engaging gentleman with an extensive repertoire to suit any event where a skilled organist is required. In fact, if our second daughter ever decides to tie the knot, Dr Bung will be one of the very first people we contact!’

There! Hopefully our review will be of some use to you.

Holly and Joe are still on honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast and seem to be enjoying every minute, judging by the lovely photos they have sent us so far. They have thanked us on more than one occasion for finding you!

Thank you once again for your excellent service and kind assistance from start to finish.

    Our best regards,

    Jenni and Hugh

We booked Dr Klaus Bung to play the organ at our wedding service on the 2nd of September. Having seen his excellent reviews online, we expected a professional, experienced organ player. What we got was so much more than that – Klaus went above and beyond our expectations both personally and professionally, and we can’t praise him enough for the special part he played in our wedding.

From the start Klaus was insistent on travelling all the way from London to Wigan (our wedding location) by rail, on a very early morning train. We were overwhelmed by the lengths he was willing to go just to be part of our service.

Prior to the service he was incredibly thorough regarding our hymn choices and was very knowledgable about the wedding service ritual. There’s nothing Klaus doesn’t know about the organ or the church, and this is immediately apparent upon talking to him. He took our wedding so seriously, and it was lovely to know that he respected our day so much.

Onto the day itself – Klaus was amazing! He took control, entertaining our guests at the church with beautiful improvised organ playing whilst they gathered.

During the service, he played our hymns perfectly to the extent that the priest stated, ‘That’s some organ player you have there!’ The guests were also incredibly impressed.

Klaus is a very talented, personable and accommodating organ player and has a very kind nature. We are so glad we booked him and will be in contact with him again if we ever need an organ player!

Thank you so much, Klaus, we will always be grateful for the part you played in our wedding.
